The app and its license
Between Days is a private space for personal moments and for Stories you keep adding to over time. It supports text, photos, voice recordings, tags, local reminders and ways to revisit your records. No Between Days account is required.
For an App Store download, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs your app license unless another license is expressly supplied for that distribution. These terms explain the app's services and options. They supplement, rather than replace, Apple's standard license and mandatory consumer rights.
Use the app lawfully and record or share only content you have the right to use. You are responsible for your choices about content and sharing. The app is a personal journal; its reflections, measurements and statistics are not medical, mental-health or other professional advice.
Your content remains yours
You retain ownership of your writing, photos, recordings and other records. Using Between Days does not transfer that ownership to me. The app processes content to provide the functions you choose, including local storage, optional iCloud sync and export.
I do not operate a journal server or account-recovery service. I cannot recover your local encryption keys, retrieve your journal or access your private iCloud database on your behalf. Keep a readable copy somewhere you trust if you need a separate copy. Do not uninstall the app to troubleshoot content you have not safely copied elsewhere.
Stories, archiving and deletion
You can keep up to five Stories open at once. Archiving preserves a story and frees an open-story slot; it is not deletion. Restoring an archived story is subject to the available slots.
Stories and their updates have confirmed permanent-delete actions. Deleting a story deletes its updates and milestones, with no undo after confirmation. Settings → Data & storage → Delete all moments clears local Moments and the related content described in its confirmation; it keeps Stories, preferences and purchase status. Optional sync and readable exports
iCloud sync is off by default. Once enabled and authorized, it synchronizes saved content, including Stories, through your Apple Account's private iCloud database. It requires eligible Apple services, connectivity and available storage. Keep the app open and unlocked to sync.
Sync is not a separate backup. Changes and deletions propagate; turning sync off keeps existing copies and turning it back on may apply changes made while it was off. Local reminders, drafts, API keys and device preferences do not sync through this feature.
Export moments creates an unencrypted ZIP for reading outside the app. You select its destination through the iOS share sheet. The current app has no public workflow to import this ZIP back into the journal. Copies shared elsewhere are controlled by you and the destination you choose.
Between Days Plus
The current Plus offering unlocks the Evolta Blue and Sage Ink appearance themes. Greenado Field and Midnight Signal are free. Core recording, Stories, local cat interactions, statistics, export and optional iCloud sync do not require Plus.
Purchase options, localized prices, billing periods, trial eligibility and renewal terms are shown in the app and Apple's confirmation before purchase. An introductory trial is available only when Apple confirms eligibility. A lifetime option, when offered, is a one-time non-consumable purchase for the specified Plus access; it is not a subscription or a promise that unrelated future products or services will be included.
Apple processes payments. An auto-renewing subscription renews unless you cancel through your Apple Account subscription settings. Follow Apple's displayed cancellation timing, including the timing for a free trial. Deleting the app, moments or Stories does not cancel a subscription. Use Restore purchases with the Apple Account used to buy the product. See Apple's cancellation instructions and refund process. Eligibility and applicable law govern refunds; nothing here removes a non-excludable right or remedy.
Features and availability
AI chat, AI setup and action-item extraction are unavailable in this release, including for Plus users. Earlier experiments and design previews do not promise future features, release dates or purchased benefits.
Features depend on your device, operating system, permissions and third-party services. On-device transcription requires a supported device and language. Reminders depend on iOS notification delivery and can show record previews according to your notification settings. They are not intended for emergencies or critical alerts.
I may update the app and these terms as features change. Material changes will be communicated as required by law, and the effective date identifies the published version. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, or makes a website update retroactively change a completed purchase.
